Hettie's Photos

My daughter, Hettie, has recently become interested in photography and just got a new camera for her b-day last month. Here are a few of her photos from Pine Island, FL she made when we had our little vacation "get-away" in Hernando, Beach, FL. Pine Island was a 10-min. drive from where we were staying.

Monsoon Green at the San Pedro

Wednesday morning Mike and I ventured over to the The San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area  to walk the trails along the San Pedro River. It was next to impossible to actually walk by the water as trails leading down to the river were overgrown with lush green vegetation - a result of our monsoon season. It was a beautiful morning walk along trails a bit away from the water, not shaded by the river tree blanket. It was hot and humid, but sooo nice to be out.

So, here's monsoon green...(for Hettie).

Well, this is not monsoon green. This is photo looking up Opera Dr. as we were walking to our car to drive to the San Pedro. Loved the clouds.

Sunday Drawing Group

Our Sunday Drawing Group has been a great way for me to experiment and step out of my safety zone. Very talented artists are in the group and we have great fun! Two of us began meeting one year ago. Our group has since grown to about about 10 "regulars". More on the group in a future post...

I did this piece last month. It's acrylic, collage, watercolor and oil pastel. This morning I worked in my encaustic studio and plan on finishing some works in progress to post soon...

Hernando Beach, Florida

I went to visit my daughter, Hettie, son-in-law, Sean, and two grandsons, Ryan and Hunter...just met Hunter for the first time. They live in Clearwater, Florida. However, we rented a house in Hernando Beach on canal with gulf views, actually water views in every direction! Despite the fact it rained almost the whole time, it was a fun trip and nice visit.

So, here is my photo "documentation" of our visit.

"The Beach House" (as Ryan called it...)

Stroll through the Neighborhood and Views from the Beach House
Camera fogged, but I like the results...

And here too.
