More portraits

Last week my dear artist friend was in town visiting her sister and we went out to paint plein air. We never found the location we were headed for, but sure had an adventure along the way. Nothing like rocky, potholed dirt roads in the Arizona desert. Anyway we found and abandoned shed and stopped to make photographs. By this time it was almost mid-day and light not so good for painting. So, we did portraits of one another. So here are my portrait of Sonya Johnson. Thank you, Sonya!!!

The Pulse Tell All & New Portraits

First of all artist friends, if you haven't already, check out Seth Apter's great artist's community, yes community, blog he has created for artists to share their work, passions, ideas and opportunities to "meet" each other online. But before giving you the link to his page, let me say I have the pleasure and honor of being included in his upcoming Sunday March 10 blog post - The Pulse Tell All.

I answered a series of questions back in June 2011. This Sunday's post will be responses to the question
“what is the one thing that you know now that you would have liked to have known when you first started to create art?” Will be interesting to see my response (as I don't remember what I said!) along with other artists' responses. And while you're there, there are MANY great art posts to check out!

So now here is the link now to Seth's Blog The Altered Page where you will find The Pulse Tell All and much more! Visit now and be sure to go back on Sunday and often!
And now for the portrait part of this Blog post! These are portraits of my artist friend Jan Searle and her dogs Kika and Suki at Moon Canyon, Bisbee made last Saturday. Quite a hike too! For me anyway. It was a breeze for Jan and "the girls". Tells me I need to do more walking/hiking...

Let it snow, let it snow!!!

8 inches of snow in Old Bisbee yesterday. What a beautiful way to end 2012 with snow the last day of the year! We woke up to a winter wonderland early yesterday morning. Mike made photos early morning around the house and I made some later when I went to work at the library. I played around with some new actions with mine. Mike's are pretty straight forward. Soooo, here they are...1st Mike's:

Love the rose:)

So here's the photos from the library all made between 8 am and noon.
